Where HorecaHub is strong
- One AI for three channels: the phone, the inbox and the chat on your site answer from the same knowledge base, and whatever needs a decision goes to a staff member with a summary.
- Reservations in your existing system: Zenchef, Formitable, Resengo and TheFork are named, and Zenchef calls HorecaHub its official AI communication partner.
- Five languages as standard, and for chains one knowledge base with opening hours and menus per venue.
- Trust: an RVO innovation grant, a nomination for the Horecava Innovation Awards and named venues such as Restaurant Abel.
What Joep does differently
- Orders from start to finish: the receipt out of your own printer, a Mollie payment link to your own account, and the receipt only once it is paid. HorecaHub itself says it processes no orders or payments.
- One fixed price. At 600 calls a month you pay HorecaHub €369 (the entry plan up to 2,000 tickets), Joep €100. Prices on the check date, excl. VAT.
- Before the order, Joep checks whether the address is in your delivery area and adds the delivery fee and minimum order himself.
- Made for the snack bar, cafeteria and pizzeria: set it up yourself, try it for 7 days without payment details, add your menu as a PDF, a photo or an Excel file.
Who suits which?
HorecaHub suits a restaurant, hotel or chain that wants the inbox and the webchat answered as well as the phone, works with a reservation system the booking has to land in, and would rather pay per conversation than per minute. Joep suits a snack bar, cafeteria or pizzeria that wants its phone orders taken all the way to the receipt and the payment, and a restaurant that wants its phone answered for a fixed price, with or without a reservation system.
Our verdict
For a restaurant that wants to hand over phone, mail and chat in one go and see the reservation in Zenchef or Formitable, HorecaHub does more than Joep. For phone orders, Joep is the more complete choice: HorecaHub passes the request on, Joep prints the receipt and arranges the payment. And whoever mainly wants the phone answered pays Joep well under a third of HorecaHub’s entry price.
Frequently asked questions
Does HorecaHub take phone orders too, like Joep?
According to HorecaHub’s site, the assistant collects takeaway and catering requests and passes them complete to your team; the confirmation and the payment run through the system you already use, and HorecaHub processes no payments itself. Joep handles the order itself: the receipt comes out of your own printer, the customer gets a Mollie payment link on WhatsApp, and the receipt only prints once it is paid.
What does HorecaHub cost compared with Joep?
HorecaHub costs €369 per month for up to 2,000 billable tickets, about €0.18 per handled conversation; with more tickets that drops to €0.14, and a yearly contract gives 10% off. Joep costs €100 per month or €1,080 per year, with no per-call charges. All prices excl. VAT, as on 28 October 2026.
Can Joep put the reservation into Zenchef or Formitable, as HorecaHub does?
No, not yet. Joep records the reservation with date, time, party size and allergies and sends your guest a confirmation by email, but does not put it into your reservation system himself. If you want the reservation in there straight away, HorecaHub is the better choice on that point.
